Ireland is performing marginally above the EU average when it comes to the number of female managers.

New figures from the Dublin-based EU agency EUROFOUND have revealed that 37 per cent of Irish managers are female compared to the EU average of 36 per cent.

Lithuania at 45 per cent has more female managers than any other EU State while Greece at 26 per cent is bottom of the league.

Grace Bolton the EU Commission office in Ireland says the figures suggest that various types of management roles are not distributed equally, with female managers facing particular challenges.
