There's good news today for consumers who like to shop online.

From December, the EU is introducing new rules to prevent geo-blocking, a practice that limits the online purchase of goods from other EU countries.

This means that Irish shoppers will face fewer obstacles when trying to buy products from websites based in other EU countries.

Grace Bolton of the EU Commission office in Dublin says it also means that Irish traders can sell their goods more easily to consumers across the EU.
