Lung cancer continues to be the main killer of all cancers in the European Union.

273,000 deaths were recorded across the EU in 2015, according to figures just published by Eurostat.

Hungary, at 27 per cent, recorded the highest number of lung cancer deaths in the EU. 

Grace Bolton of the EU Commission office in Ireland says Irish lung cancer deaths, at 21 per cent, tallied with the EU average.
