Ireland has moved up to 6th place in the EU Digital Economy and Society Index.

The index monitors the performance of EU Member States in five areas, namely digital connectivity, digital skills, online activity, and the digitisation of businesses and public services.

Topping the table of 28 member States are Denmark, Sweden and Finland.

Grace Bolton of the EU Commission representation in Ireland says despite the good result, Ireland still has some catching up to do.
