The European Commission has launched an EU-wide competition for teenagers seeking ideas on how to make the internet safer.

The 'SaferInternet4EU' Awards are accepting entries until May 15th, and prize winners will attend a major Award ceremony in Brussels next November.

A 6-week online course on child online safety has also been launched, aimed at schools across Europe.

Grace Bolton of the EU Commission office in Dublin says this is a great opportunity for young people to make the internet a safer place.
