Radio is the most trusted form of media in Ireland.

New figures from Eurobarometer show that 71 per cent of Irish people trust radio as an information source.

Trust in social media was lowest at 16 per cent while the Gardaí, at 62 per cent, are the most trusted political institution.

Jonathan Claridge of the EU Commission office in Dublin says the figures are a great boost for radio at a time of increased competition.
